Thinner first coat ML is brown and 4941 wax is black...
Well that's what I have here (since March) ready and awaiting to be applied. Just waiting for some enthusiasm to do it still. 993 Varioram - Guards Red Defender 2.5 300TDI 110 HCP - Keswick Green Defender 2.2 TDCI 130 HCP - Orkney Grey - GONE Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE LUX - Corris Grey/Black Pack - GONE Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE LUX - Montaciano Red/Black Pack - GONE |

Mine was Dinitrolled professionally, so don't know the product nbrs. But underside finish is all brown, while inside of the rear crossmember as well as the front bumper, inside of doors, A,B,etc. frames is all a fairly transparant bit whitish wax. Nothing black at all. Also take a look at Zagato's Dinitrol sticky.

Hi,
3125 is the brown cavity wax. You can use the 3125 over the whole vehicle and then finish the hard wear areas with the black 4941 if you wish. The black does give a very nice finish but is not wholly necessary as the brown is also hard wearing in my experience. I would suggest buying 2:1 brown to black. Thanks guys!
I had read Zagato's Dinitrol sticky and I had seen other images some being brown and others being black...now I understand why. I had decided to get the kit he suggested as it seemed the best thing to do. Now all I have to do is keep my fingers crossed for a couple of dry days! Cheers, Leon. |

To do it well, apply RC900 first to any rusty areas to convert the rust!
Then apply the softer brown stuff inside cavities and outer surfaces then cover it with the black stuff. Result = soft flexible coating against the metal and the drier flexible more resiliant coating with the proper finish on the outside. Simples Lovely stuff to use and doesn't stink like Waxoyle which incidently I also like but only in cavities. Click image to enlarge Mermoto |

is the dinitrol kit better than wax oil? im looking to put it on a brand new landy before it goes anywhere... so no rust to core in the first place (well i hope so but never know what they do in the factory, its taken 6 months to get mine ready!)

Done it!
A pretty messy job, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be!..... Didn't use a lot of the 4941 but used all of the ML wax. The gun that was supplied with the kit was a bit crude and even with the compressor turned down it still laid it on thick! So I only put the 4941 on places that are going to get a hammering or needed extra protection (diffs, front end...basically anything that was showing wear). Looks a bit like its made from liquorice in places now, but it really gets a hammering over the winter with our cruddy country roads and the shed loads of salt they spread, more protection the better! |
