Hi Mark,
When you set the alarm does the red light on the dash flash once every couple of seconds or many times (fast flashing)? |

From previous inspection it flashes once every second maybe a touch longer. When closing with the key the light takes some time before it flashes.

Thanks for the advice. Does anyone know the data protocol for Land Rover such as OBD2 for example. I know a few guys with various code readers. Times like these the old Hawkeye comes in useful : )

check for spiders in the truck ... them walking over the sensor will make it go off

If it goes off often enough to be able to tell, just unplug the ultrasonic sensor for a night or two - if it doesn't go off you know it's that that's being triggered. Only takes a couple of minutes to do, pull the sensor out (it's only held in with spring clips) and unplug the connector on the back of it. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

^^ ...
I know it's a right pain though as when mine did a similar (same) thing it only goes off pnce in a blue moon!! Seems like your alarm+ immobaliser is setting correctly (ie no doors open+door switches working) |

Mine did that when it rained.
Spraying the doorswitch internals with WD40 was a permanent cure. |

it's also possible to electronically switch the sensor off using a nanocom

A quick word of warning/heads up
I have a Nanocom, best thing you can do before you make ANY changes to the alarm or ECU settings is save the current working settings to the SD card. I made a change to the alarm settings on mine while testing the volumetric sensor. Pam goes out to the 90 later that night and the interior lights had stopped working. Never did find out why, all the interior light settings looked fine (I hadn't touched them anyway) but restoring the alarm settings from the saved version and they started working again. lesson learned - don't **** with the alarm settings without a backup ! http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

Try WD40 first, it's a hell of a lot cheaper |
