Viscous fan
Any one had any problems with the viscous fan coming on when it shouldn't?

all of a sudden a couple of weeks ago, as soon as you hit 70mph + the fan engages and won't dis- engage, it makes a hell of a racket when pulling away and must be a hell of a drag on the engine.

I've not had this (although it generally sticks on when I've left the vehicle in the cold or for a while). It sounds like it is making a hell of a roar when you pull off. Generally frees up after a few meters. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

If it sounds like it is sticking maybe it is. The cowl might need shifted slightly as it could be catching on the fins. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
