I remember the time when I had lots of long hair and I could rub my fingers through it and get enough grease to coat a Land Rover chassis. Sadly the hair is nowhere near as long or as plentiful so in order to do the chassis it was the time honoured paint and brush.
I invested in four three tonne axle stands but it is still an onerous task lying on your back applying the paint.Sore on your wrist, sore on your back, sore on your neck, in fact just about sore everywhere! This is after jacking up the vehicle four times using the vehicle's hydraulic jack to put the jacks in place and remove the wheels. Putting the wheels back on afterwards is even worse. Lifting and fitting four alloys with 235 tyres in succession is not a task to be undertaken lightly. I forgot to mention that I had two Pumas to do. No nookie in the immediate aftermath as you can imagine First coating was Triflo which is really thick and builds up muscles nicely. After a few days a coating of Dulux gloss was applied - just to add a bit of class. Yep I'm a glutton for punishment. Anyway here's the results. Yep, works wonders as a top coat. Says on the tin that it is good for wood and metal. Did,nt really need it but just put it on as a finishing touch. Can see myself in the chassis! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
