Even if your fan is off make sure the heat dial is set to cold.. Even with the fan on 0 if the heat control is set the hot/red, you will get heat coming out of the footwell vents..

yes like WWA says, you'll need to turn the heater control to cold/blue otherwise coolant will be pumped through your internal heater radiator

Yep - I have the same issue. Heater is set to cold and no there's no hot air comming from the footwell vent but instead from around the handbrake and through the seatboxes both sides and through both footwell floors. Over 70 miles an hour it gets ridiculously hot and I need to open the rear side windows to suck the heat out. This does seem crazy to me.
Is this normal? (mine's a 2007 puma 110 SW) Mark |

Sorry cant help with that one! Doesn't sound like it should be normal, does sound crazy. I knew about keeping it to cold/blue but that's as far as my penny's worth goes I'm afraid!!

your sat over the gearbox and transfer box aswell as having a CAT right by your left foot. So yes they do get hot. get it insulated and it'll keep both the heat and the cold away when winter comes....about september at this rate |

Haven't some on here had an issue where some gearboxes had been overfilled at the factory, which made them run hot? Draining and refilling to the correct level seemed to cure it. Darren

Had such problem last summer. I insulated gearbox tunnel, seat bases and cubby box floor. Problem solved. Puma 110

Mark, I used insulating material 8 mm thick with glued base. Don't know what analogs in your country, but here such materials used in car audio. I did it myself so it was very cheap Seat bases and cubby box floor - very easy! Gear box tunnel was slightly difficult to fit back in place because of increased thickness but it is achievable. Looks like grey material on photo (not mine) but mine was thicker I think on gear box tunnel and seat bases better to use the same material but 4 mm thick - for better fit ... Puma 110 |

My 2.2 definitely does this. The other day when I was enjoyr our half day of summer I was tramping on at a fair speed then slowed on side roads and the whole handbrake/transmission tunnel/seatbox area was hot. Happens still. On our recent trip to France one of our girls burned het toes badly due to a very hot rear floor.
Landrover should send out a warning for this! Cheers Q |
