mse, just ask your dealer if he can confirm that this update is problem free i asked JE Chester and they said that this is the latest update, and would not download this ,if it had any problems.
it could be your dealer mite not have the latest update yet ? NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

They would not put any updates in to your vehicle that was not passed by the service manager and if he knew that a programme had problems,

I've had mine done and its a bit better Thumbs Up NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

Hi dgardel,
Just got her back the difference is a bit quieter, A lot more smoother, Also when taking off in second gear you don't have to ride the clutch any more, There seems to be a little more pull not that much to shout about but its there, In my opinion its worth getting this done you can tell the difference Thumbs Up

Thanks fekete,

and about diesel knocking? is it more quiet or not???

Just got back from the dealer and the upgrade is still NOT available to them. They did say that it is due next week but will not be applied to any customer vehicles until they have applied it to their own Defender and are happy that there are no further problems.

They did add that it was possible that the upgrade has been made available to specific dealers prior to the full release but they could not confirm the fact.

I am happy to wait until the dealer has confirmed the upgrade is OK before attacking customers vehicles !

Mine is booked in on Monday for a software up grade. I described the following to the dealer over the phone. Lack of power at higher speeds.
cruising at 70mph on Mway,
back off accelerator when approaching slower vehicles,
re apply accelerator when clear,
no or little power,
the car continues to slow regardless of accelerator position,
once the car has slowed to about 50-55 MPH change to 5th gear the problem clears and the car accelerates.

I presume they are talking about this software up grade.
