An oil leak on a Land Rover? Yes, I've seen one or two of those before
If I'm reading your pictures correctly, it looks like the rear output seal on the transfer box. Not wholly uncommon but also not too difficult to fix either. Thanks guys - I figured I was asking for it by posting a query re. oil leaks and Defenders!
Is there any way to check if a particular vehicle has had the requisite recalls carried out? Would vehicles that are out-of-warranty be covered? I'm curious if the fact that I'm parking on a rather steep incline for the past two months has anything to do with this? |

Register on Topix (it's free) http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm , and enter your VIN number. Will tell you if there are any outstanding recalls. LANDYWATCH

Sorry to intervene, I have registered on Topix and when I type in my car's vin I can see: Outstanding Campaigns: P022 - PARK BRAKE OIL CONTAMINATION This means that the seal has not been change by Land rover dealer so far? Can I also read from this that clutch issue has been solved earlier on my particular car? I have only had the car for less than 4 month and I don’t know if the clutch has been changed or not? Cheers, |

Hi Rasmussen, As far as I am aware there was no product recall regarding the clutch, as not everyone had this problem. The P022 recall should be carried out by you local dealer even if your vehicle is out of warranty. LANDYWATCH

I am sure this is a full safety recall and that LR will do this FOC even outside of warranty period
