You guys are prepared to pay over £20 for a couple of bolts ????

Don't forget to extend the door locking / window power cables ..... Thumbs Up

Is Dirtpod, Daniel by any chance Rolling with laughter

you might be onto something there, the OP has been awfully quiet.

Dont forget the 2 cad plated bits of metal, or are they gold plated.

I fell for their td5 Fuel pump hatch for a Defender, $45.00 for a 6" square piece of aluminium & 4 1X6" strips, not even any gold plating bits !! Must be worth all of $10.00 . Tho the eggs box is good, but still way high at $250.00

I think Landrover owners just like spending money on their motors

I don't see that you need the two bits of metal, I presume one end is bolted to the existing bolt and the other end has the new location bolt in it (so that you don't need to drill an extra hole in the floor) - but I would have thought that over time this will 'swivel' on the existing bolt through the forces of shutting the door and the 'opening' will reduce back to previous ....

Ehem... I think you'll find there are some other bits of precision engineered metal in there too, if the pictures are correct Laughing
Seriously though, it's the kind of thing I would do myself but I don't want to drill holes in my floor (probably in the wrong place if stressed) and I don't have time to faff around with bits of flat iron before my daughter's friend arrives, as I'm away from home (and the 110) for the next week. I'm hoping they arrive soon and it really is a five minute job, as advertised.

p.s I will, of course report my success or own up to my stupidity as the case may be Wink Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Oh & buy yourselves a magnifying glass, The two pieces of kit I've ordered from mulgo come with instructions printed using the smallest font possible, I had to use my jewellers loupe to read them

I made one for my 90, using an original discovery inspection plate, 6 self tappers (i used those plastic nutserts too) all from a scrap yard for about 50p

Td5 fuel pump will fit up through the hole from an old Tdi tank inspection plate Thumbs Up

Alternatively simply move the existing floor-mounted plates (the ones the check straps attach to at the inboard end) an inch or so towards the door. Same result, no new parts.

Sorry, forgot that you need to be member to see the pics, but the registration is free and easy to understand.
Easier than to put a picture here, still did not find out how. A simple copy/paste would be great...
Send me a pm and I send you the pics.

Morning

this is the modification we normally do on our cars, a bit of stainless flat, a couple of holes drilled, voila

Quentin,

Is there any chance you could provide the measurements of your box please?

Thanks, Jason.

I'd probably make it 1/2 to 3/4" lower

3 holes in bottom
2 big ones for ecu / abs etc loom and small one for OBD plug

Good work,
but I think you need to change the triangle cutout at the front bottom into a rectangular cutout , it is to clear the support gusett above the transmission cutout in the seatbox, Its too hard to see mine for a photo with the seats inplace so Ive circled it on the image below. 3mm thick will be bombproof.

I also made easy entry into my now empty seatbox using a marine inspection port. Tho if I didnt already have a 50L aux fuel tank under the box I'd have knocked the bottom out and put a 90 tdi tank in there

Thanks Quentin,

I did look at stepping the front over the lip like yours, but then came up with the 'triangle idea' I checked it via some CAD (cardboard aided design) the slope clears the lip and is easier (cheaper) to fabricate, rather than the double fold.

I note from your drawing that the front is 1/2 an inch lower than the back is this to allow for the slope of the seat box?

I am going to put my Eberspacher D2 under the seat so already have plans to fill it, before it's even been emptied!!

Visited Daniel at MULGO (www.mulgo.com.au) last week to pick up some of my ordered kit Very Happy

While there, he kindly showed me (and promptly fitted) a 'fix' for the rear doors on my 2011 Puma 110. have a look at this link:

http://www.expeditioncentre.com.au/online-...0-130.html

This is a sensational idea / fix / product. What ever you do, scrape together $25 Aussie Dollars and send it off to Daniel, you will not be disappointed in the slightest !!.

This 'fix' makes it super duper easy to throw the kids in the back seats of the 110; load the water bladder into the footwell; pack the camping gear; access the fridge; etc . . . .

Fantastic piece of kit, cheers Mulgo Thumbs Up
not sure how big your kids are but mine will fit through the opening with ease! Even i can get in there

I'm not sure why it is lower at the front, Possibly to get the angle of the higher cubby box more ergonomic ?? , (is that a word you can use in a Defender??) the cubby is now a great armrest,
