Defender 90 jump seat anhorage. Can they go...?
Hi guys,

First post!

I have a 1999 Defender 90 csw. I have removed the rear jump seats. Useless things! There are two tubes that run parallel to the body work behind the jump seats. The seat belts for the jump seats attached to the tubes. The tubes are mounted onto the wheel arches. My question is are these tubes part of the structural integrity of the vehicle or can I get rid of them? They take up valuable space in an already small car and would prefer to remove, every scrap of space counts on looong trips to the kalahari.

Anybody done the same or have expereince with removing them?

Any help would be appreciated!

Don't worry they are not structural, they just unbolt from beneath the truck. Undo and get rid of them.

Thanks very much!

Will pull them out this evening. I am planning on putting big D rings in place so that I still have something to put ratchet straps onto to tie down stuff in the back!
