I just bought an old CF-18 to play with. What do you use for navigation software? On the CF-18 was OziExplorer installed, but only with some nautical charts. I really would have to extend my snorkel to use these I find it hard to resource maps for Ozi (would like to have maps for W-Europe, UK, Scandinavia), so may be there are better alternatives to use as software? Mind the CF-18 would probably not capable to run the newest software because of the limited memory and processor speed. Thanks for any tips or pointers, Cheers Cheers, Vincent 1959 Polynorm 1/4 Ton Trailer, Olive Drab Green (sold) 1970 M416 Military Trailer (Camping Trailer Conversion), Epsom Green (sold) 1975 Series III 88 V6, Light Green (sadly sold) 1996 Defender 110 CSW 300 Tdi, Epsom Green (sold) 2000 Freelander 1 TD4 3-drs, Silver (sold) 2006 Freelander 1 TD4 5-drs Facelift Automatic, Tonga Green (sold) MySite |

I use an early cf18 (and a cf19) with memory map, a usb gps and a Kensington power supply. All worked flawlessly for years. Cf18 is on xp and is used for map work only these days - never goes online. Cf19 on Windows 7. Sits nicely on top of the cubby box. Simple plywood mount designed but net yet made - I currently retrieve the toughbook from the footwell occasionally
iPad mini - I knocked up a cradle from the side of my old 90HT that I cut out for a window. Bolted it to a RAM arm and suction mount - works perfectly. |
