No special tools....
All you need to do is push the gaitor downwards and lift two white quick release clips either side of the base of the lever, the lever will then just lift off. I've just done the same and replaced with an SVX one. It has taken some considerable time but I have finally managed to source the SVX gear and transfer levers at significant discount against new prices. To buy new from the dealers the pair would set you back over £1000...... If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Price is not illogical, no? They are meant to be installed only on the limited edition SVX. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Makes sense! That's how they outprice any Tom, Dick or Harry from kitting their vehicles out with SVX parts, thereby maintaining the uniqueness and attractiveness of the SVX to people who want them. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I was looking at someone's parked up Defender 60th black special edition the otherday, very "doggy" people. The interior had been well chewed, and the gear levers, gaiters, centre console, and even the Recaros were all irrepariably chomped on. Enough to make grown men weep, but to the owner just another working Defender.

Mine surely not... I keep it spic and span But must admit, a few weeks ago in the Geneva countryside also saw a local SVX90 in a rather mediocre condition. Not really a working vehicle, just some very careless owner Luckily this is quite unusual for Geneva, most people here are taking very good care of their Defenders. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Unless of course an 'accommodating 'Italian Gentleman' sells you his brand new 'still packaged' SVX transfer lever to match a second hand SVX gear lever to finance his SVX grille purchase.
