I like all three of the consoles, but might end up getting the Mud.
So, which of these Carling switches would I need for my heated front windscreen? I understand it would need to be a non-latching type that then relies on the timer to turn it off? http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/Carling_Switches.shtml |

I'd go for the raptor, it looks to be the most flexiable - optionwise .. Pikey's aren't always wrong

I have the Iron Goat version in my 90. The first into the country I think. Well I had to go to Vancouver to collect it, even before they were supplying SR.
Fits nice, looks the part and very well made. And nice blokes that made it as well. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

Thanks for the replies. It was a tough choice but I decided to go with the Mud console, along with various Carling switches. I also ordered their Tunnel Tray that sits around the gear stick. Hopefully they will complement each other.
For my heated screen ive ordered an 'off-mom' switch, im assuming after its pressed it will switch straight off whilst the timer takes care of things? For my heated seats ive ordered 2 x 'on-off' switches. I hope ive ordered correctly? |

Sounds spot on to me
I cut the holes out in a Mud console that I fitted to a previous 110 with a Dremel tool, like a knife through butter ! |

Does the Iron Goat require any cutting of the dashboard to fit Walfy? |

Mud console received today, hope to get it fitted this week. Any tips form anyone who has done this would be appreciated. I havent looked through the package in any detail , but I assume there is a template supplied for cutting my dashboard?

There is no template as such. What you do is place the console in the centre of the dash, lined up with the ashtray on the top rail, and then draw around the two edges. When you have done this, you measure 20mm (I think) inwards, and then mark two new lines, which will later be cut out. For the bottom line, it is the very bottom of the two circular holes which once housed the cigarette lighter and rear wash/wipe button. Now cut out! An engine to TDi for!

Thanks GUM97, I hope to fit it this week. I'll try and borrow a Dremel tool and have a go at cutting the holes for the switches.

Extreme thread resurrection!
Considering a 300TDi as a 2nd Defender. Are these 3 still the the available options? Personally liking the Raptor. Appears to have a solidness the others lack. Even better if it was all black......they do black! 110 DCPU Mark |

For a 300 TDi consider the MUD centre switch panel if all you want to do is add more switches. It replaces original plastic version and you only have to cut the aluminium of the centre dash panel behind to add power sockets or switches and the rest looks original.
