Finally fitted the last one today. Made a couple of shims from plastic cut from an old storage box and Bob's your mothers' brother:

A small tweak to one I'd fitted earlier and now all four doors shut with a satisfying thunk without the need to slam them Very Happy Darren

Fitted. Needed to tweak one as it was not quite square, easy fix. Could do with some proper shims at some stage but so far so good. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

My 90 (my 1986) has a protective cap around that pin shielding it from the side and the top. Scaling the real deal.

That's correct. Unfortunately the plastic sleeve is part of the problem. The plastic quickly becomes damaged and the door then fails to close properly.

After a bit of research, it turns out the purpose of the sleeve is to improve the sound of the door closing. We prototyped with and without a sleeve and found that without it both lasts longer and makes the door close reliably long term.

Once the sleeve became damaged, it introduced a new hook profile to the new part - removing its original advantage. Therefore we made the decision to omit the sleeve and produce a better quality, longer lasting product as a result.
