Nanocom Help Alarm TD5
I have acquired the use of a Nanocom, to help reinstate the alarm on my Defender, however I need instructions on how to use this. I have had a look through the menus but it does not seem to have a simply yes or no option to switch the alarm on.

We believe the alarm has been deactivated, as both key fobs have been synchronised to the alarm but the alarm still does not come on, the fobs were done by a Landy technician but he didn’t know how to reinstate the alarm.

Sorry to/if I am hi jack, but can the alarm and immobiliser be deactivated by the nanocom?

Reason I ask is that I have a Toad Cat 1 alarm for insurance purposes as well as the factory fitted alarm. i HATE having two alarm fobs on the key ring, so would like the factory fitted one removed/deactivated as it once failed to un-immobilise and the Mrs was stuck at work and unable to come home and cook my dinner, which is totally unacceptable obviously!! Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

Mark,

There is no alarm on or alarm off...

There are a number of options that you need to select depending on the spec of your Land Rover and what level of security you want. Some functions you can ignore - as they don't do anything, but others must be selected to get the best from your alarm.

As already mentioned, if you get really stuck give me a shout.

Yes...

It can be set into a full poverty spec mode - where by the 10AS physically needs to be there so that the engine ECU can confirm its the alarm unit it's expecting to see (i.e. the one it's paired to).... but apart from that it will do nothing, and you can remove the LR alarm fob from your Keyring.

What you really want is an integrated alarm upgrade that takes the system to an insurance approved CAT 1 spec, but uses the STD Land Rover Alarm fob or one of the integrated key/fobs.... Whistle
