just wondering as several have mentioned about through pipes etc being stainless steel.....
would I be right in thinking the standard exhaust is stainless steel ? |

I doubt the factory pipe is stainless. Just nicely shiny galvanised which looks stainless.

I didn't think it would be but after polishing the tailpipe I'm amazed how well its come up not being stainless ?

Yeah my tail pipe was like that but when the whole thing came of and was on the workshop floor I was shocked at the state of it. The centre box and the hangers were the worst. |

A standard exhaust is 409 stainless... so magnetic, and a low grade.
Flanges, hangers etc are all mild steel. So not the best in world... 304 or 316 would be much better! Ian |
