Over the last few weekends I've been givng my TD5 some TLC.
1. Replaced ABS modulator due to "3 Amigos" (turns out it was a siezed pump motor) 2. Replaced rear discs, pads and calipers as they were siezed and pads crumbled..! 3. Repainting/rustproofing (WIP) Some photos... ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ..I tried to upload other photos, but was unsuccessful..;-( cheers simon |

What paint did you use for the crossmember, did you use a primer? Needing to do mine. Life is not a rehearsal!

Yes, I used primer. I took all the rust off using a grinder, sander & wire brush in a drill. Bascially back to bare metal in most places.
Then used the primer and matt top coat. Still need to do a few more coats. Will do the rest of the chassis and then cover with Dinitrol and ACF-50 as per the Corrosion Prevention Guide on this forum (from Zag). ![]() Click image to enlarge Got the paint from B&Q a few weeks back when it was 2 for 1. cheers simon |

Just got back from a weeks trip to Germany and the Allrad show at Bad Kissingen.
Saw some interesting gear which we may well be adding to our stock over the next few months. Also saw some gear which is NOT, repeat NOT going anywhere near our vehicles. Would not put it on our vehicles if you paid us. Some conversions we could only say WHY! OK it can be done but WHY? Ho hum an interesting trip. Brendan |

Well it was yesterday, but meh.
Finally got around to fitting the second hand Mud Dash I picked up a while back: ![]() Click image to enlarge Had plenty of holes cut in it, so I've made up a plate for the top to house switchgear (currently winch and fan switches). Covered a hole on the left with the CB mic, and the radio fitted where the previous owner put it, handily the same place I wanted it put. And then popped down to the scrapyard to scavenge some electric window switches and made a plate up to mount them on the right hand side: ![]() Click image to enlarge Think they look pretty good, and being from a Freelander they'll even light up the correct colour when I get around to wiring them in! Also got a mighty bargain on some second-row doors for my 110 CSW, a pair of pressed steel ones complete with electrics/trim etc. from a 2006 model for £140! And before you ask, no they don't have any more ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Used the back as a bench for putting my Series IIa head and manifolds back together, then resealed the rear corners between the tub and hardtop sides as a leak has started. Also started a bit of trial and error to find out where the water's coming from on the passenger side mat.

Here you go. Got it off SLR;- ![]() Click image to enlarge 1964 Series IIa 2.25 88" (Helen) in the Wyre Forest a last year She'll be back on the road before the summers' out hopefully. Ideally I'd like new springs, but Michael's eaten into some of her fund. Chris. http://shropshirelandrovers.freeforums.org 2015 Defender 90 XS SW & Helen, 1964 IIa.
