I bought the full kit after I bought the engine blanket.
I think the engine blanket is so good I am wondering whether it is worth fitting the NK under bonnet pads. I have fitted the interior front and rear kits and they have make a big difference. When cruising at say 50-60 in 6th I can't hear the engine, only if you rev it through the gears. at 70+ all I get is wind noise. I don't get any tyre noise from the BFG ATs, the main issue is wind and that's due to the brick shape and gutters I assume. I argued with my self on whether to fit my own sound proofing but as I have very limited free time I bought the kits which took less than 2 hours to fit. If you buy the engine blanket make sure you fold it down over the rear of the engine as far as it will go. PS - after 4 hours fast cruising on motorways the engine blanket only got warm and did not foul or interfere with anything under the bonnet. BM52 |

I'm waiting for DGARDEL to tell us the outcome of installing the 2.2 acoustic cover on the 2.4
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic8633.html?highlight=acoustic If this works, I'll buy the LR cover off the 2,2. If it doesn;t work, I'll also be buying a NoiseKiller blanket I guess. I can vouch for the rest of the NoiseKiller kit - the rear tub kit is especially good (in a 110 USW) Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

I have the NK blanket only and it's very good - even the wife noticed the difference (and approved the purchase )
Only question was raised a few weeks ago when it was over 30 degrees here (!) and I was hammering the Autobahn - the blanket may have "insulated" the temperature sensor under it and lead to a loss in power. Never had a problem until that insanely hot day! Go for the blanket - it works well Tell someone you love them today because life is short. Grockle - read this
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic7788.html?highlight=blanket IMHO this gives the greatest reduction in noise for the least amount of effort. everything else is a lot of work for very small increments in noise reduction |

Absolutely agreed
That was the thread that convinced me, I'm just taking mine off whenever it's above 25 degrees outside (doesn't even need to be fixed). Fitted mine last weekend along with the under bonnet strips. Very pleased with the results. Noticeably reduced the engine noise especially at higher speeds and the service from Grant at NK was A1. Got to fit the rest of the kit inside this weekend. 2008 110 XS CSW Stornoway Grey |

Just posted that it's 35 degrees today and power loss again when hammering the motorway. I did not have the Noisekiller engine blanket on and the only explanation is high air temperature, perhaps plus the RAI. In any case, I don't think the Noisekiller was to blame Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

The standard intercooler can't cope under those conditions. Many owners here in South Africa have the same problem. LR are aware of this and are testing. If you want to sort it yourself, get a more efficient aftermarket intercooler. |
