the factory ones are decent, no need to change them, its the 4ins /13cm speakers in the underside of the footwells that need to be changed for better sound quality, plus a decent head unit with a better built in amp/out put.

I have sorted speakers and what not infact have a DVD head unit. Amp and sub yet to sort out. Just wondering if there was anything on the market better but as they are so small I doubt they could be bettered. I don't really want a mix match or brands either if I can help it so maybe it's better to stick to original |

I could have sworn Pete @ Nakatenenga did some uprated tweeters - or was I dreaming it?

i have these VIBE Slick 4 Inch 4" 10cm
very good sound quality and wont distort with a standard 50x4 way amp in most head units as they have a RMS 50w with peak 150w. they fit straight in using the same 4 screws as the original speakers. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VIBE-SLICK-40-V2...4cf99c2282 i then added a sub and amp combo to provide the bass and low frequency tones. |

How much would focal speakers cost. I would be interested in the market for new speakers.

Got these in my 110.
Excellent sound, and the tweeters fit straight into the Defender dash holes. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ground-zero-gzrc100fx.html HTH, 2010 110 XS USW (the slow one) 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ (the fast one) 2005 Ducati ST3 1954 Sunbeam S8 |

They look pretty fancy. What do the cross overs do?? Don't know much about car audio set up. Should talk to my old mates from when they had to modify their sound systems in their novas, they all have Audi's and other such cars with great stereos as standard. I spent my early days just making my series work now I am doing all boy racer changes.

I've never heard of focal until recently, and you lot seem to rave about them? Russell
