That's you Egr mate, they sell for about £90 ish quid on eBay, you will when it gets a bit louder notice the mpg drop, mine felt a bit gutless too
 mines 57 so I had to do mine myself but if you've got warranty they should sort it 90 Puma HT |

If its under warranty get it sorted. If not you can probably leave it well alone since the noise does not necessarily indicate imminent failure. Mine has been doing this for three years and 60k miles.

100% it's the egr 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs
3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

Be happy that the EGR does make noise, but be alarmed, when it stops ... Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

My 90 makes 6 noises, always 6, when the engine has been switched off. The two 2.4 Defenders on Land Rover Experience I drove (110), never made the noises. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Well just got the usual Stugess soft soap!
"It is supposed to do that" was the all too predictable response. Apparently its the EGR doing a self clean. So the fact that it hasn't made that noise for the first 37000 miles must mean that it's only just needed cleaning  "If it ain't sideways, you just ain't tryin'! |

Typical dealer BS! It is supposed to carry out a self-cleaning cycle, however it is supposed to be silent in operation. |

When the EGR is quite clean, you do not hear anything, but once it has to clean something, it does this chicken noise. If it gets louder, its no good. If it stops making noise, its broken most of the times. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.
