Fitting Jate rings
I'm trying to fit some Jate rings to the back of my 90 300TDi however there is a flat strip of metal that could present a problem. This is what I'm on about

Is it just a case of ignore it and it'll be fine, or is there anything else I can do?

TIA

I dont see any issues with that - ive had them fitted in similar scenarios (they soon move in use) Mike

Won't it bend the bracket under load? One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

I would disagree - it will pull up, yes, but unless your snatching around i doubt it will do much more. Mike

Well I fitted them to tow my series 3 out the way, and they actually split the metal, creating a cut, so to speak, that the jate rings go into. But they worked perfectly! Thumbs Up Ben
