Thank you all.
When I get the truck ,I ll do a long trip ,aprox 3000 km.So issues like defective vacuum pumps and clutches make me anxious somehow. So I m seriously considering of replacing the WABCO brake vacuum pump with the new improved one and maybe also the clutch before getting the truck from LR.I know that I ll have to pay for them without using the warranty but I preffer to do it and feel sure that I start from a good healthy basis instead of having them failed in the middle of the trip with a 4 month baby with us.

Do we know how we can distinguish the two pumps? The improved one is also made by WABCO ?
Ι mean, how can I be sure that they did replace the 50-50 to fail one with the improved one? I ve seen the old one,I know how it looks like.I also know the part No for the improved one but I dont think it helps if you want to physically see the difference.
Same goes for the clutch.
How can I be sure that they will indeed replace the stock one with the improved one?

Thank you

I have apprently I new vacuum pump (it was changed on my request for free). I didn't take such a close look at the old but the new one looked new (obviously). As far as I know only the seal was improved, which I guess is not diretly visible.

in any case... insist on the free of charge replacement. The bulletin is clear in the wording. Some LR dealers always try to screw their customers.

Same goes for the clutch.. though there I think it's only replaced once it creates problems. has a different part nr. apparently. Again cannot look into it.

Requested mine to be replaced as a precautionary measure. Dealer agreed when pointed to posting on GTR. Serial number on the vacuum pump body ends in 'XP' for the latest modification.

thank you very much.
I ll try to convince mine tomorrow...
I mean ,I found the relative TSBs,as it concerns the brake vacuum pump,I think it is stated clearly "in case a customer raise concern, put a new one..."
For the clutch it mentioned "should it become necessary......"

So ,I guess they should replace the brake vacuum pump for free.

We ll see...

ok with the brake vacuum pump. Thumbs Up
No with the clutch assembly.

So I m going to pay to have the stock clutch assembly replaced with the improved one.

At least I ll know that those two serious issues are ok .

Thanks George Wink

Cannonball thanks for the info about the pump,I ll check it.

So ,there's no way we can check if the pump or clutch is indeed replaced .....

I mean,if we consider the worst scenario, they can always install the same one,or even noone....

any other ideas ?

Yours is a 110 or 90 ? I heard that 90 s have one pin diff-carriers while 110s have 2 pin diffs-carriers.
My dealer said that the 110 I m going to get has 2 pin diff-carriers in both F-R diffs.

Warranty claims you cant request your parts back,

If they wont replace your pump - spray some oil around the engine bay and say its failing Thumbs Up Mike

Humm,

At least in Chile if it is a warranty claim, the piece should be keep by the dealers to be showed to LR inspectors. (you know, 3rd world country) Anyway, when they changed the clutch they invite me to see the new clucth already in position and the old one.

Regarding the pump is quite easy to see if it is one of the new model or not. I remember that we have some thread with this information here.

Cheers Eduardo

Hi.

L/R diffs are 2-pin carriers and 4-pin carrier for heavy duty diffs for some 110's and all 130's.
