It's just a long bolt but is so tight you have to unscrew it the full 2 inches so should slow down scum tealeaves a bit. I'll get security bolts a.s.a.p.
![]() Stainless steel and black powdercoated really well (not like some other stuff I've had to re-do) - made in Germany ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Wow - 9cm long M6 security bolts are seriously hard to find (unless you want a trip to China). Think I might just fill the end with polyurethane glue.
I'll call Markus (Offroad-Tec) a bit later and ask him about the powdercoating colours and price for a group buy ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Maybe I'm missing something, but you still have the Bulkhead section of the hinge as an open section, so what is stopping the bonnet being opened upto over 90 degrees and lifted out of this section?

In the original setup, the hinge bushing has a cut-out into which the bonnet hinge slides and that moves freely within the "curl" on the bulkhead. There is no pin - lifting the bonnet to the point at which the slot faces upwards and aligns with the open section of the "curl" allows it to slide out of the bushing slot, as it is not fixed at the sides. Note - even this bushing cannot be lifted from the "curl"
With the new system, the black nylon bulkhead bushes are in two halves, one going into the "curl" from each side (a tight fit). They will only come out again sideways...which can't happen because the hinge arms are in the way. The bonnet hinge is pinned through these so the hinge/bushes can't move up or out. Sorry if that sounds gibberish ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

*UPDATE*
Markus has offered the following discount: 10 pairs for 77 Euros each 20 pairs at 72 Euros each 30 pairs at 66 Euros each All sent to one address (me I guess) so there's DE to UK postage on top. He also says he is getting an add-on to fit a Hi-Lift in a few weeks. Anyone for a group buy? Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
