I'm still saving up for cup holders Whistle BUT if we can get the price down to 66 Euros I would be in if they prevent bonnet theft. Not having to worry about having your bonnet being nicked would be worth it Wink

Is it just bolt and nut that goes through to secure it?.... Or have they used some sort of security bit?

Mine can't be removed because of the roll cage so have to remove the 6 nuts/bolts at the moment and wouldn't mind changing it to two. But don't want just allen-head bolts and lock nuts as it will make it easier for a thief.

Security can easily improved by epoxying a ball bearing in the hex socket (or find one that is a tight drive fit), which makes it impossible to drill the head off, and using Loctite and a shearnut instead of the nut. Then pray you don't need to remove your own bonnet, since a die grinder on the shear nut is the only way you'll do it.

Cheap and simple, and a great technique for securing winches (and Puma doors, for than matter).

Elegant permanent (!) solution - just bought shear nuts Thumbs Up

Would LR ever need to remove the bonnet (except to replace it) to work on the vehicle? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Yes, removing the bonnet gives better access for a number of jobs. John

Think I'll just use shear nuts for now then... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
