At some point in the next 10 years, I will need a DCPU.
Anyone know how difficult it would be to turn a 110SW into a DCPU and how much it might cost? Cheers Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I do plan ahead (especially when it comes to getting the last kids out of the house) and it's also something I can look forward to (running out of bizarre projects at the moment). I would indeed like a trailer now but we already have an occasionally used trailer tent taking up all the garage space (I sling stuff on top of it and use it as a trailer sometimes). Mrs ZeD would kill me if I come home with something else Seriously though, any ideas on possibilities to convert or price? Willy - thanks for the offer... but is it LHD? A bicycle chain, broom handle and a couple of old sprockets and it could be. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

Cheaper to sell your Station wagon and buy a DCPU.
What can a DCPU do that a SW can't ? Richard Either a 90, 110 or 130. Discovery 5 |

Get stuff wet in the back. not allow "long" things in the back. take up space in the back with the spare tyre. (Give me a SW anyday) |

Carry rocks, logs, wet dogs, soil, not leak as bad, not smell as bad, no leaky windows, quieter, handy tailgate to sit on, put a tarp in fill it full of water and have a bath, carry tall things, wash out the back with a hose. Original Member Pie n Pea Club. 110 HCPU Tipper |

A conversion will never be easier/more cost effective. Good things come to the wild and free |

Thanks to all for your information and viewpoints. Will probably have to buy a trailer in the shorter term then, as I'm fairly sure I'll want to keep the SW. What I would really want is something like this NOW (still for sale):
but as I said, Mrs.ZeD would not be amused... p.s. I know it's not original (easily fixed) but I really, really want it...pleeeease? This one looks quite nice and fairly untouched just not been photographed as well - not tarted up with zinc spray & chequer plate either
Steep price though http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C303408 Truck cabs can be bought for about £50 Free tax and more sought after lights in the middle look too |

She's a beauty and surely not too expensive (?) Perhaps I've lived in Bavaria too long - everything's expensive here )
Can any of them be "in really good condition"? Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
