Since when has stopping at red traffic lights become optional depending on mood of driver.

Number of times I see vehicles go straight through red lights is amazing.

Today in outside lane of dual carriageway coming up to traffic lights, vehicle on inside lane 50+ metres away from lights which turned amber. Carried straight on and crossed traffic lights after they had been at red for 2/3 seconds. Ferking idiot!

I have a strong objection to those idiots putting my life and vehicle at risk!

I will not start on about driving standards at temporary/work zone traffic lights

There's a big white line where you should stop - even I can understand it Rolling Eyes
So why do so many idiot drivers here drive right over the bloody line and block the doctor's surgery, kindergarten etc. entrances... which then blocks the road from the other direction, especially in the mornings when they are most used Evil or Very Mad Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

When I was taught to drive last century, I was taught that AMBER meant STOP unless unsafe to do so!

i.e. you do not do an emergency stop running the risk of the driver behind rear ending you.

This century it seems that people are taught that red lights are optional.

Also when was uphill traffic have right of way thrown out of the highway code?

Modern driving standards, no wonder insurance is so high.

I've not long ago learnt myself (2010) And I was tought perfectly and stick by it always. The problem is not the driving test or learning process or any of that it's once the test is passed people think that ah sod it that's done now I'll drive how I like. Not meaning to point the finger at anyone at all but from what I see the worse age group seems to me between 25 and 45. As I said this is a minority but I think the vast magority just think I've been driving for years never had a problem I can handle 90 on the M way so on and so on. There is of course the chav that's 19 with a Saxo type also. Not that I like to sereotype Confused

"Not many like this"... yes there are, it's a mass-produced vehicle.

"Very genuine/honest"... because cars can be dishonest?

"Commissioned in blue"... it's a car, not a ship, so I'd just say "painted" like most normal people.

"Bargain"... I'll be the judge of that. Usually means it isn't anyway

"No timewasters or scammers"... because that's sure to put off timewasters and scammers.



A favourite example I saw recently involved the seller trying to convince you that the fact the vehicle was a Cat C write-off was somehow a selling point Rolling with laughter

Some charities do not deserve to get donations!

Our business is based in a mill complex in Halifax and there is probably 100+ firms in the entire complex.

Well a children's charity has taken some office space in the main mill building and have decided to contact all the mill occupants asking for donations. No problem there you may say.

But some bright spark has handwritten envelopes to all the companies at the mill, then stuck stamps on them so off they go from the mill to local sorting office to come back to the mill.

As one of our fellow tenants said if they can waste money like that, they do not deserve donations.

Why did they not just leave the letters at the main reception? Or better still hand deliver them and talk to at least some of the mill occupants?
