Gear box noise - idling in neutral
I am starting to notice a change in the sound when idling in neutral. May have been there the whole time and have never noticed it but wanted to check to see if anyone thinks its sinister as I'm coming toward the end of my warrantee.

Symptoms are as follows:
- In neutral, clutch in, normal idle
- Drop the clutch, idle gets slightly rougher, tachy drops momentarily
- Slight change in noise / vibration. Can's quite tell if its coming from the gearbox or clutch

Would appreciate some thoughts before attacking the dealer on it.

Cheers!

Likely to be the friction plate. Second chance is the input shaft´s bearing (more unlikely). Puma 110" SW

Thks for response. So if its the friction plate, thats just a matter of adjusting the play then?

Thanks - that's what I was after. Won't be taking no for an answer with the warrantee coming up. Only got 15k miles on it!
