Hi guys just to let you know i have not run away without letting you know the outcome.

The engine and gearbox were repaired without to much problem but when we went to start it the engine will only
swing over if you turn the key fast for about 0.5 of a second

If you let the electronics sort its self out before starting then it wont turn over

Like you can beat the imobiliser briefly if started fast then it stops you??

Anyway without the test gear we can't test the imobiliser or electronic side so it is with the dealer Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry
to finish what we started

Hi just a quick up date the engine didn't last long before it done the same again

So we have stripped it down to find this time there was a pattern of carbon like a 4 leaf clover
on the piston and there is a bright clean line across the middle 1/2 an inch wide that suggested the injector was leaking Big Cry Big Cry

So we have re built it with new injectors all 4 of them and now have 100 miles on the clock and it is running well
fingers crossed it will carry on

There not to bad really we have a few transits and the tdci and the older tddi engine isn't much different apart from the common rail and the electronics

The older tddi engines we have developed injector problems and 2 of them cracked pistons and run up on there own oil it gets quite exciting stalling one in gear when reved out and screaming

Both of them had one replacement piston and a set of injectors and rebuilt. One of them i still have and it has done more miles since the rebuild then it did before. Whistle

The other one broke the timing chain after 30k miles a warning that now means i only fit genuine parts in the engine. (If you can count fitting landrover bits) Laughing Laughing Laughing Cool
