vin numbers
when ordering parts, i notice that a lot of the suppliers list parts for vin numbers upto ie, Defender vin 2A622424 on, but when i look at my vin number its more along the lines of SALLDHMB***,

Can someone explain how the defender/suppliers listing of these vins works, been up on night and cant focus on things like numbers, any help will be appreciated.

In the example you give, I believe they are just quoting the last 8 digits of the VIN.

basically its age 2a means 2002 onwards there are so many mA which is M reg onwards kA etc etc Thumbs Up be carefull because some times there is a - infront which means its up to that certain date Thumbs Up
