Greasing the Puma
Just for interest I greased the universals (front and rear) after a trip and then tried the rear sliding one which has a grease nipple, seemed to use a lot of grease and none "popped" out the joint like on my old TD5 etc
grease was definitely going in yet it appeared to be disapearing into thin air!!!. Front one filled up with about 20 strokes of the grease gun
Any ideas?
Thanks Simon

happened to me when I just got my 110" Puma as when I pick it up all universals look really dry. Factory seem to just spit on these joints at the assembly. Puma 110" SW

I did mine yesterday and the rear sliding joint seemed to take half a tube of grease. I wouldn't mind but i did it six months ago so it couldn't have been completely empty. 130 crew cab

The handbook on the Tdi says not to overfill these. They need to be removed and compressed in order to stop them being overfilled.I do not know why this is. Just goes to show the difference in the handbooks information wise. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
