United Kingdom 2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 HT Alpine White
2.2 question
i noticed a button just below the steering wheel shaft (right hand side) on my left hand drive
i can't find anything about this in the manual. Could anybody help. It must be something "new" because it is not in the 2.4 LANDROVER Defender Best 4 x 4 x Far

You are not talking about the rubber grommet in the right hand side of steering column shroud are you, if so that's just a left over from where the manual choke control used to be on petrol models. Steve.

That is where your ignition key and barrel would be on right hand drive models.Mine has the blanking grommet where your ignition key and barrel is. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

The steering cowl is the same on LHD and RHD cars though?

Ignition is on the left on RHD models. Steve.

It does make me smile why LR still use these column shrouds with the choke cable cut-out.... Carb V8's havn't been factory fitted since, when, 1996? (ish) and most certainly not since the Td5 came into fruition....


Maybe LR have a warehouse full of these shrouds they're slowly working their way through Laughing Laughing

Yep, leftover from the old manual choke days [ISTR having one with a diesel cutoff pull mounted there too but might be just a brain f@rt. Steve.

LR have been using that shroud since 1983 on the first 110's, guess it must be a case of 'Don't fix what aint broke". Richard

Either a 90, 110 or 130.
