Just check the tightness of the oil filter, I had one that wouldn't stay done up and every couple of months or so would loosen off just enough to seep oil past When I do lift the bonnet to check the fluids it's become 2nd nature to lean over and check the oil filter.

Checked breather and all is clear.
Cleaned up the cam seal on the front of the engine and sealed with the same stuff they use on Puma sumps. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

I think I have found the source of another leak, the oil pipe thats on the underside of the turbo. I found some oil at the flange joint with the turbo. Order new seal for that. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Today replaced the turbo oil return feed pipe gasket. When I say replace, there wants a gasket there in the first place. Fingers crossed thats another leak fixed.
Next I think is the oil filter housing gasket, which I think is leaking and dripping down behind the engine mount 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
