I have been reading up and I'm thinking the National Luna 50L Weekender - fridge & freezer, S/S finish, built in battery management, low draw (15a fused twice) & jackets available.
Just need some £'s |

Why is the NT so much more expensive? What does it do that the others don't? (apart from use more power )

I have the exact NT that BPMan has mentioned (with the cover and floor mount) and it really is a well made piece of kit !
I'm not sure that it is fair to compare the Weekender with the ARB 47 as the NT is a fridge with seperate freezer and the ARB appears to be a single compartment style ??? The NT also comes with a sophisticated battery management set up which again the ARB doesn't appear to have, bit like comparing the 130 XS to a 90 base .... |

National Luna uses a Danfoss Compressor BD35F
ARB 47 litre fridge uses a Danfoss Compressor BD35F National Luna Battery Monitor System 12 VOLT Battery Protection Cut-out Cut-in LOW 9.6 10.9 MED 10.4 11.7 HIGH 11.3 12.5 ARB 47 12V DC systems LOW 10.1 volt MED 11.4 volt HIGH 11.8 volts I can not find figures readily on net for cut in voltage and do not have the manual to hand. Looking at those figures the ARB leaves higher capacity in the battery National Luna 50 is 40 litre fridge 10 litre freezer with temperatures seperately controlled ARB 47 has a separate dairy/fruit compartment which runs about 5C warmer then the main compartment. The National Luna Weekender 50 litre ali is about £250 more then the mild steel powder coated ARB 47 litre. Brendan |
