Im hoping some of you expedition type guys can help me, Im after a large tough plastic carry case with carry handle, ideally a Peli 1650 would be perfect but at they are around £250
http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4...10-000-110 Click image to enlarge Can anyone recommend an alternative/cheaper case, needs to be at least 450mm (L) x 350mm (W) x 230mm (H) and must have a carry handle? (I only need it to keep my newly acquired rc car in ) Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Last edited by WarPig on 1st Apr 2012 10:54am. There's got to be one of those Really Useful Boxes available in a suitable size. It might not be waterproof in the way that a Peli is, but add some foam liner and it would be perfectly adequate for what you've got in mind. Darren

they even do a tough version which seem to be getting to be a bit like a cheap wolf box or http://www.flatdoguk.com/fd-wolf-box~1 Mark |

The wolf box looks a good size and the price is good, but I really need it to have a carry handle so I can walk to the park with it with my son.
As for the Really Useful Boxes, I have some of those already but they dont have a carry handle and the lids dont fasten securely. I love the Peli cases but they are too expensive considering what I want to use it for |

How about THIS ONE, sold for photographic equipment? Similar spec to Peli but much cheaper and with a handle. Darren

How about some of the steel ones that site sponsors sell. Brendan does I think roughly £120ish

Blimey, I've had a iM2720 Peli-Hardigg Stormcase languishing in my garage for about four to five years that I had completely forgotten about, came by it 'free-gratis' too. I was recently looking for a weatherproof case/box for an impending trip to stick it on the roofrack. Cheapest option was going to be the Wolf Boxes with the covers. I even went to the garage when I saw your post and dug it out at 23:30 last night. Needs a scrub up..... Thank you for the timely reminder. My gratitude is such that you may borrow it whenever is convenient for the two of us. You will of course either have to pay the return postage or collect/deliver in person so I can see your Landy... Hi. Are those dimensions the minimum you can get away with? I have a couple of lockable storage boxes with handles in my garage that are surplus but the depth is 170mm - otherwise what you're after.
I'm not too far away - work in Sheffield, live just over the border in North Notts. so if you want to have a quick look, you're more than welcome then, if they suit, take 'em away. Tony |
