Something I never read about on the forum, but worth mentioning.
All those who have one of above models, or who have bought as an option those SVX type fronts/light units should inspect once in a while the transparant plastic cover of both front turn signals. Due to a design issue the lens covers are under quite a bit of stress, and over time they can develop hair thin cracks. I read about this about a year ago on the aulro forum, and when I inspected my then 2,5 year old SVX, yes, one of the turn signal lens caps had developed a very tiny thin as a hair and only 5mm long crack. If nothing is done, this will get worse with time. The good thing is that I know that Land Rover know about this design/manufacturing issue, and for customers who complain within the 3 year warranty period, they will replace the turn signal unit in the front. I pointed it out to my local dealer at the 3 year end of warranty inspection, and without any questions it was replaced. Sofar so good now. Hold to point it out, because think one can easily miss it. No pictures, but it was a hairline thin crack which developed from the edge of the lens cover where the cover makes a sharp bend. According aulro thread, that is where it always starts, if it happens. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
