Just curious... On the Australia Puma's the interior door plastic panel sits about 1/8"-1/4" proud of the window glass but on the out side the glass has the rubber strip pressed against it. On my old Tdi there is an inner plastic strip that touches the glass.
Is this the same in the UK and if so do you notice a rather cold breeze coming up through the door? Of course the obvious question is: "How do I fix this draft?" 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi

Just checked, the outside rubber is tight to the glass. There is a gap between the top of the inside door trim and the window. There is no plastic add on lip as in the tdi. I have no draughts. This could be caused by an ill fitting door seal or a door that is not lined up 100%. You are probably no further forward now but at least you know that your vehicle is pretty standard. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

The only weak point in this is the fitting for top left hand corner of the trim as you hold it in your hand, face out after removal. If you break any of the other plastic fittings they are easily replaced. The top hand left corner is different. but if it breaks -which I am 99.9% sure that it will. do not despair. It can be screwed back on to the inside of the trim using small screws. The trim is very thick just here so it will hold the screws. This is not explained very well but you will understand once the trim is off.
The fitting here is all one unit whereas the rest are individual plastic screw types which just slot in to a holding piece.Someone else might be able to explain it better. Rather than just pulling the door card off at the clips use a flat screw driver to pull the clips out , there is a groove in the clip where the screw driver will fit if you push it in between the door nd the card, if you know what I mean.
You may be doing this already but it is just something that I have learnt the hard way, pulling the card off works but there is a good chance that the clips break off in the door or even worse break of the card. My 2 c. |

Fontuin, you can get a proper tool, it looks like a small open ended spanner made of tough plastic so it doesn't damge the clip or panel
