Switzerland 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SVX Station Wagon Santorini Black
Bit puzzled by these comments about weak horns. My SVX came originally with a sharp, crisp, loud twin horn, similar as what you would get on most high end cars. No reason to change anything here, is as good as it gets.... I do know that LR install different types of horns on the Pumas, as last year was being driven around in ABP terminal in Immingham port in a standard spec Puma, and the horn in that one was a weak fart Rolling with laughter .
So presume LR use double standards, presume high end spec SWs and special editions like SVX, ICE, etc. get different type of horn than base models. Don't know where the cutoff point for that is though Question You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Where would you mount those?

Emergency vehicles have them behind the front bumper or grill, but I'd probably put them on the inner wing to keep them out of direct spray etc. They do last pretty well. I still have a set I bought in the 80's Thumbs Up

I have been thinking about a new horn for out here- the locals don't really take notice of the weaker LR one.... but then cr@p themselves when they see a TJM Roo-bar nearly going through their side window. The answer I am looking at is a boat fog horn..... can be found at all boat/ marine stores and come in 12v.
