First Service Warranty Work
Hi All

Got my first service tommorow done 4,000 miles, already changed all oils myself earlier, i have a few warranty items as well.

1, Water leak into passanger footwell from windscreen seal/bracket area, not alot and sods law its stopped altogether now.
2. Rusty mudflap brackets, with paint peeling off.
3. Rust bubbles to seam under doublecab back seats(the box section bit) not a lot but why should i do it?
4. Door trim card has a dent where it hits the seat base, i would imagine this will result in the technician hitting the seat base with a rubber hammer to move it across a bit!

No other problems i know of(not wanting to tempt fate!)
Anybody know of any more impending doom i should know about/mention.

Thanks
Deano

Rusty window catches on the sliding windows.
Door seals coming away and getting trapped in the doors (I've had mine done twice now)
heated rear screen top element failure (unless it's got the modified version)
Rusty headlamp surrounds

I'm sure there are more, these are just a few of my warranty items, but as it's out of warranty tomorrow it will never go wrong again Wink

Rear mudflap bracket fixing point splitting the rear panel on 110's especially with motorway miles!
Front and rear heated screens!
Check wipers are all good,
Heat coming out both sides OK,
Check windows don't rattle in front doors,
leaks from swivels, diff, transfer box etc,
Cracked steering bush on bulkhead top, (ZeDefender has better specifics on this! He won't mind 3000 pm's Very Happy ),
Can't think of any more without pulling things apart to check, melting light contact points for instance Sad so lastly all recalls up to date. Somebody will have even more Thud

Dean - keen to hear how you get on...

I've often considered "marking" a couple of items to see if the dealer actually changes/adjusts them...

I'm sure my old main dealer didn't grease the prop shaft correctly - maybe worth having a look to make sure there's fresh grease around the nipples?

Good luck! Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)
