Any body know how you do it and what tools you will need to carry with you in case you run out of fuel?

What I have done a couple of times in the past is this: detach fuel pipe at coupling under the bonnet, nearest to the firewall. Pressurise the fuel tank slightly, which will force fuel through the fuel lines and bleed the air out.
I use my tyre compressor, wrapped with plastic at the end and inserted into the tank filler. I then give the tank a little blast of air, which is generally enough to bleed the system. Once the fuel is flowing out of the coupling freely I reconnect and the start the car. I have used this method after running out of fuel and when changing diesel filters. |

very interesting. Ive been meaning to ask this question myself for some time now
Could I make up a pump myself with a boat fuel hand pump and standard high pressure hose with a one way valve??? Land Rover's don't leak oil, they simply mark their territory! |
