That's what I did with mine, just chained them off the sidelight. Naughty I know, but the total draw is something like 0.75A on a wire that's already well oversized.

Thanks - I'm planning on replacing the SVX internal sidelight with an LED bulb and the existing sidelight with a 207 LED bulb, do you know if that will work?

That will work fine, the LED lamps will reduce the current below that of one normal bulb anyway.

Don't do it. The heat generated by the main/dip beam inside the enclosure will take the LED sidelight way outside it's operating temperature spec. It will not survive very long. The LED in the existing external side light will be fine. Pete |

The Main bulbs go upto something like 220'C if I remember correctly

Too true, and a standard 5050 SMD LED is operating outside its comfort zone above 85C.

Easy to not realise though! LED type bulbs also tend to be plasticky often too. Personally I don't like LED's seem too directional on light output to me ![]() |
