Pretty certain that more limited editions are to follow, maybe also one day a "last of", and they will get sold to.... everybody ready to open their wallet,..... including previous Defender owners You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

There have been limited versions of the 110 such as the Heritage version (which should have been the 50th anniversary version really). Can't see a limited 130 being a big seller really.
I think Landrover will realise they are shooting themselves in the foot by totally cutting off from the Defender, so I expect the real replacement will have more of the "proper" shape to it. |

No reason to make a 'special' edition as I reckon the last Defenders will sell at a premium. 130's have feeling's as well you know

I keep saying this hopeing land rover/tata will listen (stupid of me I know) but I want not just the dc100 built in india, but for them to build defenders there to, give it the full overland wish list starting with tdi/tgv 2.8 engine, and let me drive it home!!!!!!!
they have the service infastructure for parts unlike dodge or hummer and people inport them all the time it seems Mark |

I daresay Land Rover will continue their tradition of usually hideous paint schemes and stick on plastic bits in the name of 'special editions' right up until the last one rolls off the production line and goes straight into a museum. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |
