Remap from netbook or iphone
Dear all,
I wonder when would be possible remap from mi iphone / smartphone or netbook. Also nanocoms oe scangauges.
I dont understand why developers havent done yet.
imagine how easy and less expensive would be.

There would still need to be some hardware to interface the device to the vehicle. Programming of vehicle control systems needs to be extremely stable and robust!

This is by no means impossible though, and I am aware of a couple of solutions which will be available quite soon, all be it, these are more for diagnostics.

The question on my mind is, Why? Why would you want to 'remap' your car from a compact device? If your tuning was right, then you'd hardly ever have to touch it?

Our ATRIC system ticks all the boxes for remapping in many cases.

Thanks for your fast reply.
Why.
Because, I think ( I am not an , so I appreciate your explanation ) the most important thing is the map itself, not the hardware that transfer the data.
And at the end of the day, you can remap your defender paying only for the software.
Thank for your comments

Hi Augusto - perhaps bear in mind that decent remap software will be expensive too. Being an Apple user, it also occurred to me to "do it myself" but I am painfully aware (from mine and others' experience) that DIY remapping is a very bad idea Shocked Better to get experts like Alive or BAS to keep your baby safe.
I have the ATRIC box and it is very handy. It's small enough to hide in the cubby, powered from the ECU interface (no batteries required) and very robust. Switching between maps only takes a few minutes and the original map can be replaced without evidence (e.g. if you break down and don't want LR to have kittens). I believe the BAS box is the same.
Just a thought...

Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

It's possible, but not exactly economically viable for the developers... The BAS box and the Alive Atric do a bloody good job, at a very reasonable premium. It's the old addage.. "If it aint broke, don't fix it.."

I had to "unmap" mine today 6 minutes before it went into the stealers (long story, the saga continues!!).. Nice quick n easy to do. I am sure if I had an Iphone doing the job, some Censored would call just as the flash is being written to, and the remap would fail!!! ... ,-------,
