Thank you for the link.

And can you get some pictures up of the mud panels when you have them in as they are also on my (LONG) list Embarassed

No problem, will do.

The supplied fitting instructions seem fairly comprehensive, if there are any gotchas etc I shall do a How To post on it with pics. (I'm well know for my detailed threads on the FFRR forum)

I asked in another thread if anyone had the MUD panels, someone said they were cr@p and didn't stick on, but they must have changed things cos these are screwed in to the gutter channel and the lower rib in the body. 2016 D4 HSE

Just so as you know, I bought 6 rolls of this stuff, with the intention to do the rear body sides, rear panels (where most of you have the rear quarter light windows), the roof (front and rear) and under the bonnet.

I have yet to do the front roof section as I will do that when I remove the current headlining for the new La Salle version, and also under the bonnet to do (bit of a tricky shape to template) and so still have 2 rolls surplus and a load of off-cuts. These will come in handy for doing inside the seat boxes etc.

It's well worth charting out the shapes you need to cut and figuring out how many different sections of the car you can get from each sheet, otherwise you could end up with a load of wastage.

The hardest part was templating the rear roof panel above the safari door, I made a cardboard template form the outside, cut to size and then kept trimming it to fit on the inside. But still, not exactly hard, the freezing cold weather was the worst bit, but it all stuck fast and is still in place Smile 2016 D4 HSE

First proper drive out in the LR since putting the sound deadening material in, has certainly improved the metal panel resonance issues.

Once the side panels and new headlining are in place it should be much better.

Jobs for the weekend:

Take rear door trim off and put sound deadening in there
Do the same for under the bonnet and inside seat boxes. 2016 D4 HSE

A few jobs done today, finished the sound proofing under the bonnet and also got to the bottom of the intermittent stereo - very poor wiring behind and a loose earth.

Fully hard wired in now with solder, shrink wrap and a new connector block.

Looking better every day and cheap fixes. Thumbs Up

Removed the headlining today, cleaned all the roof and applied the foil backed sound deadening.

Wired up for 4 speakers for when new headlining arrives - enjoying the electrical work, very satisfying making a good job using the heat shrink etc.

Fitted the MUD Stuff panels in the back, they need a bit of fettling to get them just right for your car, complete with LED lights and starlights I added for fun.

Fitted a new steering damper as the old one had no rebound left in it.

Once the headlining arrives and that is in, the interior will look totally transformed.

Then I can do the springs and shocks to lower it back to normality Rolling Eyes 2016 D4 HSE

The new La Salle headlining arrives this week sometime I have been told (at last!)

But the time it's taken to be made has given me the time to get all the above jobs done.

Spent all this weekend working on things and have now added a nice sturdy A Bar from Flatdog, OEM black chequer plate for the wing tops and bonnet and a rear LED worklight. (added a pic below of the front end )

The chequer plate was a much more involved job than I thought, but the countersunk screws look much nicer than rivets. Drilling nice body panels is heart breaking! Big Cry

Also added some OEM Land Rover bonnet lettering in black gloss, as the whole vehicle is a green and black theme. The jury is out on this bit. I love the letters but know the TD5 bonnets didn't have this so will see if they grow on me or not. Even though the kit comes all ready-spaced out, it doesn't quite look right, or maybe its me. I'm sure there will be a barage of slating remarks along any time soon.

The things for next weekend are to wire up the rear LED light - thinking of tapping a feed off the number plate feed with an inline switch. Then also to fashion some sort of interior panels for the rear quarter panels where you most likely have the little windows.

Not sure what to do with these but think I will cut some ply panels and cover them in a black low pile easy clean carpet, will hopefully look nicer than the silver sound deadening material. It would also give me somewhere to mount the switch for the rear LED.

Entire roof insulated and wired up, ready for new headlining from La Salle.

Front end looking more purposeful.

That looks great, I still have to buy my sound proofing, panels and roof liner. Your pictures have made up my mind to get the MUD panels instead of the TGE one's, hopefully the dogs won't chew through them Rolling Eyes

New seats look lovely too, are they more comfortable than the standard one's? Tdci 110 DC

Adam - lose the Puma lettering (bonnet isn't wide enough - looks like LANDROVER instead of LAND ROVER) and look at NAS front lettering instead:

Am I right in thinking the Puma bonnet has a different front profile and thus the lettering looks 'normal' on the newer bonnet? Thought about putting it on the Td5 but I don't think there's room.

The Puma bonnet is slightly wider and squarer at the front, but looking at RRUK's photo I think he's got lettering from a different LR vehicle.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
