Took an hour off work this afternoon so I could get home and wash my 90. Filthy roads the last couple of weeks - was really grimy.

Looks soooo much better now (I think - it was dark by the time I'd finished leathering it - no chance of polishing it!)

It is blended differently depending on the season and the market location, cloud point is the temperature that the paraffin starts to solidify and form tiny particles within the diesel solution in colder climates the required cloud point is set much lower and less of the paraffins are permitted. There are also anti cloud additives used to prevent the fine particle agglomerating and blocking filters, waxing on walls of pipes etc.
As for actually freezing solid it would have to be so chuffing cold the tyres on the LR would shatter first. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

Thumbs Up I wonder if adding 2 stroke oil effects it, makes it less fluid maybe in these low temps...

I wonder too. I have stopped adding it when temperatures dropped below -15'C.
In these extreme temperatures I keep the engine idling for c.a. 15 minutes. Even after this, gear stick moves like there is not oil but butter inside and driving makes me feel I am towing heavy truck behind.

The forecast for today is -31'C Very Happy Janusz

As mentioned above, I washed my Defender yesterday evening. Yeah, before a night of minus something or other (bloody cold anyway)

This morning, as expected, frozen locks and door buttons. I had to get in through the back door (never seems to freeze up as bad) and give the driver's door a good shove to get it to open. The central locking then got itself in a tiz as the passenger side was still frozen.

Drove the 30 odd miles to P&P for a chat about my roll cage design and the passenger door was still slightly frozen. It sat in the sun for 20 minutes and then opened at last.

Saw my cage, all set up on the jig, nearly done. Just the internal hoop to do and the powder coat! (Fantastic set up they have there Bow down ) It will be mine, sooonnn! More shiny stuff for me.... yeyyyy! Very Happy Cool

Might get the checker plate wings top on this weekend, depending on weather etc.

Sounds great, I have a P&P cage what did you go for. I have their internal/external with long external sides I used to mount my roof tent. Good quality product Very Happy

Hi Steve,

We've gone for their standard external expedition bolt on, but with extra bits!

cross on back part of roof
external diagonals to sides (across the windows)
plus
Bolt in Internal hoop - newer design which follows the contours of the non-bulkhead wheelarch boxes, so sits a bit back from the back of the seats. The hoop will also have a custom removable cross from the bulkhead removal bar onto the hoop (crossing lower down, rather than central - so the cross will have shorter 'legs' at the bottom than at the top, if you see what I mean!)

I've got a Howling Moon roof tent on order, which will mount directly onto the cage with P&Ps universal mounts, so like yours, the cage is doing 2 jobs!

Exactly, there was no way I was spending big money on a roof rack when that money could go a long way to paying for a cage which will also be the roof rack. No load on the Roof either, no regrets here Very Happy

Bet you can't wait
