Deepening on the type and head if the snorkel the air will have longer to travel and slow down, as the heads differ in size you may also not suck as much air in. Thus meaning that you may end up having an inconsistan mix burning less fuel in the cylinder and spitting the rest out the back due to lack of air causing you to hit the right pedal to go faster and buri g more fuel giving you less mpg  Russell
