United Kingdom 2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green
Hi Steve

Had a go myself and couldn't find it in the itunes store either. When I click on the memory map website link it says that its not available in the UK yet, just as you experienced. Confused

Judging by the number of downloads the kids have made on itunes lately I know mine is working fine Mad

Steve,, Tried on the works machine, and MM was not found in the apps !!

Just tried here, and its now, as you have found,,, gone,, Exclamation

However, still have it in my apps, so they must have closed down the UK version to new applications ?? Rolling Eyes California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Just checked out the memorymap forum and it says there is an issue with the app in the store and it is being worked on. No great consolation if you need it now as this has been going on since jan 6th.

Without going into a blow-by-blow account, what happened is Apple changed their rules for Apps in the app store, and gave us two weeks to change the whole business model of our Digital Map Shop. Everything now has to go through in-app purchase via Apple.

We have complied with the new rules as quickly as possible and submitted an update. That update was rejected for a totally unrelated reason (because of some support for a custom hardware device we had added). We are now waiting for a third update submission to be reviewed, and I have every reason to believe it will be approved. But each review cycle is about 10 days. If anyone has a contact in Apple that may have some influence, you could help by asking them to expedite the review for app ID 356572228.

I know many of you have purchased Apple hardware specifically to run Memory-Map, and I know how frustrating this must be. I assure you, we have been working non-stop to get the software to our customers.

BUT
on another thread they suggest Hema USA atlas as Hema apps allow import of memory maps. So it might have to be this way if they don't get it sorted soon.

to continue the memory-map saga...

I called memory-map front line sales support 7 times now and they can't (or won't do anything) - i would think i am within my rights for a full refund ? they are selling a product that clearly does not work because the app is not available.

Memory-Map web site does not tell you that the app is not available.

Rubbish support so far.. I have sent them 5 emails detailing the issues, but not a dicky bird ..

maybe tomorrow Sad

Surely you should be venting your spleen at Apple? They're the ones who removed a working app without giving sufficient notice for MM to provide a workaround. It seems very unfair on established companies that Apple can change the rules just like that, and in the process ruin their reputation - but then, they do like to be in control Rolling Eyes

What can MM's support tell you - they don't know when Apple will approve the app (or even if they will)? They've got an app to give you, it's just that Apple won't let them. Is MM only not available in UK? Perhaps Apple are keen to push US (Hema) companies over UK ones? My Disco 'best bits'

I agree with you to a point, my problem is the MM site makes no mention of this problem and it's been a problem since 1/1/12 .. a little explanation would go along way

my other issue is the license management does not seem to be robust

the actual product when working does what it's supposed to do

Barbara - I'll see you on the 4th Shocked maybe you can show me how the atlas map can sync over bluetooth to the GPS Rolling with laughter

I agree with yoe about license management, mine tries to connect to license server every time I change map and then the when I cancel lo and behold the map is there. Rolling Eyes

Not tried the hema app as my memory map one is working and I am loathed to fiddle with it. Never tried using Bluetooth for syncing. I just iTunes to get maps and routes onto the iPad. As I don't have a pc in regular use running memory map and they don't do a mac version. Somehow after this debacle I don't think they will be bringing one out.
