you'd spent that on tdv6 /8 conversion! chearest to by an accident damaged one or an accident damaged D3 and swap all the parts over. Then ask Pete to do the business on the ecu etc |

Yer problem with th v6 is it will cost nealy 4k just for the ecu with the 3 k for engine then a adaptor plate for a auto box which is abt 5k plus other bits not cheap even if you kept the tdv6 manual box it still needs the conversion plate then a 1:1 transfer box all new fuel pump no wobder JE want 25 k to do it
Transit engine is the way forward just give me some time to gather info and some penny's Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

Pete didn't use the simtek ecu to get his running. |

No he didn't your right but he sold it with a simtek ecu in the end I'm sure I remember him saying that he fcked 3 if not 4 ecus up when trying to do it and I can't imagine as well as I know pete at he will be able to do it much cheaper
Plus the 3.2 as standard has more power and torque than the tdv6 standard ? Without putting a big tune and different turbo on it ??? I think personally you could prob do the 3.2 swap for any 6k Ish Regards Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

I don't know anything about the 3.2 engine, but assuming it is a longer block it just worries me exactly where the bottom of the sump will sit. I might be worrying unnecessarily though!
I'm still in favour of the ajv8 (either s/c 4.2 or n/a 4.4, both petrol). Salvage jags are cheap enough and I've found a company to supply a management system far cheaper than one for a tdv6. Put that on a strong Ashcroft zf and you'll have a nice vehicle! |

The sump I'm not worried about I can always manufacture something plus the extra cylinder goes forward in the engine bay thus using the wasted space and personally I wouldn't go petrol there useless in water
And the amount of torque and power the 3.2 has to offer in standard form is more than a tdv6 Steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

Ajv8 is good in water, trust me!
Thoughts on a finding a salvage vehicle and pulling the whole lump? |
