Sounds intresting. Does it sound like a TD5? How can you spot a 5 cylinder Transit?

I've been toying around with the idea of a Lexus v8 1uzfe. I hear they're quite cheap and pretty bulletproof.

I like the idea of the 5 cylinder, larger engine lower EGT's and off boost torque. Nearer to the 3.9 Isusu CKD kits assembled here.

I have a friend at Ricardo's who did the original engine work for Land Rover and also did all the ecu designs on the transit.
I remember him saying that Land Rover had to do quite a lot of modifications to the 2.4 from standard. I seem to think he said a standard transit engine has a bunch of sensors in the engine that land rover had to remove as they sucked water in when submerged especially when the engine is hot. Don't Land Rover make a fuss about oil scavenging in the 2.4 at extreme angles? I personally would go the TDV6 because at least you know these same issues have been thought about for the D3. |

Ok well surely all the switches and wiring are very similar so it wouldn't be hard to change these ?!?
