Fitted my centre box replacement straight through exhaust section.
3 hours to remove the back three retaining nuts 20 minutes to do the rest of the job. Certainly seems to rev more freely, only a marginal difference in exhaust note. I got a Terrafirma mid pipe from Defenderbits down the road from me for a very good price to try.
I wanted to see if there was any resonance etc when the centre box was removed. Noise level inside the cab seems the same as before I removed the box. I will eventually get the full Alive sport system and sell the TF mid pipe on, it was cheap so will be a bargain for somebody I am not a real fan of TF stuff but the mid pipe is very well made and looks like it will last a long time. I must say that the original mid box is massive once off the vehicle Bob 2015 Jaguar XE240 R Sport - goes like ....... !! 2013 Defender 90 CSW - sold 2009 Defender 110 Double Cab - sold 2001 TD5 90 CSW - offroad project - sold to a forum member 2011 Porsche Boxster - for the sunny days ! |

Click image to enlarge There were a few cheeky points.... But in amazement the missus was too busy worrying about the Defender when going down this slope that she forgot to take a picture!!! Here is a lesser make doing it though: Click image to enlarge Glyn :sheep: Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Cypriot drivers are more clueless than UK drivers in the snow though!!!!
Driving along road.... see snow..... put hazard lights on..... slow to 2mph...... get stuck half way up a hill..... stop in the road.... take pictures and play in the snow whilst 4x4s struggle to squeeze through the gap left Glyn |

Went down to Sainsburys, did the weekly shop, then fuelled up, ready for my first week ever commuting to work on diesel, rather than on petrol or LPG.

Took Betty out for a quick trip up the rod to see Jon aka Party Monkey ... swapped over my spare boost/Grabber for his and had a good Landy natter over a mug of tea ... also learned about the joys of afc-50 and the rear crossmember looks nice and black and shiny !
Great bloke and look forward to a green lane day out or Landy DIY day Jon |
