As good an idea as that sounds ... you have no idea how difficult it would be to arrange [vetting/passes/vehicle shakedowns, etc etc] Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

took the kids to see Puss in Boots in Roscommon (3D helps to make kids movies bearable) then a two hour ordeal following the missus around shops with only the carrot of KFC for tea on the way home - this is what middle aged dad's Bank holidays has come to. Filled up on the way back 24.4 mpg.; Marvelled at how 6th gear is usable from 50mph on the steepest of inclines and spent the evening consuming the Hobgoblin ale bought in Tescos. Happy new year fellow consumers !

finished fitting the 2 front door rubber seals and managed to save the fragile door cards (again )
the inside of my doors already had some brown sealant, so I sprayed some dinitrol inside too. Then I fitted the entreq fuel cooler guard .. I used small ramps and axle stands to get my rivnut tool under the vehicle. 1. check the guard will fit then spray the this part with dinitrol (or similar) (picture is black and white - daughter was fiddling with the camera!) Click image to enlarge 2. dinitrol the holes, then fit the 4 rivnuts to the cross member, then dinitrol again Click image to enlarge 3. remove front anti-roll bar fixing Click image to enlarge 4. place the plastic washers onto the dinitrolled area on the top side of the guard. 5. using the 2 front a/r bar bolts, offer up the guard and do nuts up finger tight 6. fit the 4 rear hex bolts through the plate, plastic washers and into the rivnuts Click image to enlarge 7. tighten up the a/r bar bolts Click image to enlarge 8. re-check all the nuts and bolts then dinitrol the fixings Click image to enlarge 9 fit the fuel hose clip 10 sit back and admire the guard Click image to enlarge Last edited by bpman on 2nd Jan 2012 2:29pm. drove to Lough Key forest park in Boyle. A good walk around the lake followed by hot chocolates in the visitor centre. This place is cris-crossed with forest walks and I was itching to take the Defender along them but alas not allowed. I totally love driving this vehicle and I envy anyone whose job involves daily use of one
