England 2002 Defender 90 Td5 XS CSW Bonatti Grey
As LRA said, it's not a problem particular to Td5's and can happen to any diesel engine given the right circumstances. There's a 200 Tdi doing the same on Youtube somewhere but in the mean time

&feature=fvwrel

and a Toyota.

United Kingdom 2005 Defender 110 Td5 CSW Java Black
An old LDV non-turbo minibus I part-owned used to do this on a fairly regular basis, producing clouds of white smoke and making quite an unpleasant noise. Only way to stop it was to put it in 5th with the brakes on and drop the clutch. It happened in some amusing places including a French service station forecourt and the customs booth at Calais Whistle

The theory was that the brake servo had a hole in, so the engine was sucking in brake fluid and running on that Shocked We never totally found out though, cos it was scrapped before we got to the bottom of it.

Never ever heard of a Td5 doing it, I wouldn't worry yourself about that one.

(awaits engine explosion on the way home)
